DPG Media launches new radio app "JOE"

Exactly a year after the creation of digital radio station Joe, the station launches its own app. Designed and developed with great pleasure at Pinch. Users are only two ‘taps’ from from the best music from the 80’s to the present. In this corona crisis, the app comes at the right time now that many people are working at home and are dying for some distraction.

Joe has his roots in Belgium where the station started in 2009. The channel grew into a well-appreciated classics channel with a strong market share. Joe focuses on the “fresh forties” as their focus audience and plays recognizable hit music. The Dutch version of Joe followed last year as a digital only channel.

Jorn Agterberg, Marketing Manager Qmusic Netherlands: “With the Joe app, everyone can listen to the classics channel whenever and wherever they want. There is news timeline about artists and you can easily contact the station and morning DJ Erik van Ramp through the free messaging feature.

In addition to the mentioned functionalities, the listener can also give hearts to favorite tracks, so that they are saved in his or her profile. The resulting list can be linked to Spotify again.
